Clearwater Drive Wetlands
One area of major concern is the land adjacent to Clearwater Drive.

The site is a natural wetland area, and is home to numerous species of wildlife. In the winter months the area floods to a depth of 2 feet and provides a wintering feeding ground to the rare Jack Snipe and Water Rail. Spring sees the pools seething with mating frogs. Common Toads and Great Crested Newts are also seen here.

Originally a primary school was scheduled to be built on this land. However for some unknown reason that idea never developed. However, we have just recently heard that the City Council may grant planning permission to develop houses on this site.

QACA are strongly opposed to this proposed development, as we feel this will be detrimental to not only to the wildlife but also to the people of Quedgeley who enjoy walking in the area.
