Helping to preserve the last remaining open spaces in Quedgeley
Register with Easyfundraising which is free. Select QACA as your preferred organisation. And then every time you shop online using Easyfundraising, money will be donated to us.
Because online shopping is becoming more popular large organisations such as Tesco, Comet, Playcom etc, can reduce overheads and expenses. Easyfundraising has teamed up with these organisations, and negotiated a rebate system which is passed on to groups like ourselves. Use their search engine and even more money can be donated to us.
Help QACA
If you wish to help save the open spaces in Quedgeley, please contact us. We are a small committee.
We meet on a monthly basis which is very informal.
If you can spare a few hours a month you will be more than welcomed.
We need help with:
Membership
Quarterly Newsletter
Distribution and General enquiries
We have found that if somebody comes to a meeting they will join us and help. Come along and see for yourself.
The Easter 2010 school holidays have seen a rise in teenagers, congregating in the Local Nature Reserve at night. The local Police are aware of the situation and several arrests have been made on Public Order Offences.
Can we reiterate to parents that the Nature Reserve is a Nature Reserve. Not a place where large numbers of youths can congregate and drink alcohol.

Local Nature Reserve
The Local Nature Reserve is situated off Curtis Hayward Drive, with access points and a car park, another gate is situated off Hillcot Drive.

It is a haven for wildlife including squirrels, foxes and badgers.
It is managed by Gloucester City Council.
Once you enter the reserve you will soon relax and find peace and solitude, even though you are in the centre of a large developed area.
QACA regularly clear up the Nature Reserve, and have held BBQ’s in conjunction with the Parish Council during it’s Easter Egg Hunt.
If anybody , or a group wishes a guided tour around the area and learn the History of it, please contact us.
QACA are currently in negotiation with the City Council and the Countryside unit to Formulate a management plan, which will include members of QACA working alongside the countryside unit to help maintain the area.
